Fairfield home remodeling and bathroom remodel project

Rehab/Renovation

The home renovation project we did on San mateo street was another fun Fairfield home remodeling project. We did a bathroom remodel, repaint, baseboard, laminate flooring, all new doors, and all new electrical and plumbing fixtures. We did this one in December of 2016 on an extremely tight budget.  This Fairfield home remodeling  project was not in a very good area of town, but the house was foreclosed and needed a lot of work. This was more of a rehab than a remodel as the budget was tight and materials were on the lower end side of things. The key difference is that a remodel usually involves moving walls, floor plan changes, etc. A rehab is more like a refresh using the existing layout.  The total project length for this home renovation was 3 weeks from start to finish.

The Kitchen

Since the home had previously been remodeled with granite expo kitchen cabinets, we decided to only paint the cabinets and add new hardware. We installed 10mm laminate flooring from lumber liquidators in the kitchen and other common area’s of the house.

The Bathroom Remodel

We fully remodeled the hall bathroom by adding a new 3 piece fiberglass surround, skimming the walls, installing a new light fixture and vanity, and adding 12×12 peel-n-stick vinyl tiles. Most of the materials were to client specifications – they are not our first choice, but on a limited budget you need to make things work sometimes.

Everything else inside

The rest of the Fairfield home remodeling project was to install new carpet in the bedrooms, paint the interior and exterior, replace all of the light fixtures and receptacles / switches, repair all of the holes in the drywall, install new baseboard and to replace all of the old, worn and broken doors on the inside and outside then install newdoor hardware.

Exterior work

On the outside of the home, we completed all of the pest work and built a new fence in the backyard. The client also hired a separate contractor to install a concrete patio, walkway, sod and bark.

  • Re-Frame the master bathroom so it has a walk-in closet and enclosed toilet
  • Two full bath remodels with new vanities, fixtures, tubs, and floor and wall tile.
  • We cleared the pest inspection and home inspection for the client.
